PicMenu: Visualize Menus with AI - Generate High-Quality Menus with Just a Snap
An innovative AI menu visualization tool, PicMenu, has recently been launched. It can transform traditional paper menus into vivid and intuitive digital displays through a simple photo-taking operation. This tool can not only automatically generate high-quality pictures for each dish but also provide rich dish information, offering a brand-new solution for the digital transformation of the catering industry.
PicMenu employs a multiple AI technology stack to ensure the realization of its powerful functions. The tool uses the Llama3.2Vision90B model of Together AI to extract menu information, cooperates with the Llama3.18B model to generate structured data, and creates realistic dish images through the Flux Schnell model. In terms of technical architecture, PicMenu chooses Next.js and TypeScript as the development frameworks and combines Tailwind CSS and Shadcn to create a modern user interface.
In practical applications, PicMenu demonstrates extremely strong practicability. Restaurants only need to take photos of their menus, and the system can automatically recognize and extract dish information while generating corresponding visual presentations for each dish. Currently, the development team is expanding the multilingual support function and will also add a dish tagging system in the future to support the annotation of characteristics such as spiciness and vegetarianism, facilitating users' personalized screening.
From the perspective of technical implementation, PicMenu adopts AWS S3 as the file storage solution and integrates Plausible and Helicone for data analysis and performance monitoring. The project is released in an open-source manner. Developers can obtain the source code through GitHub and deploy it for use after configuring relevant environment variables.
Looking ahead, the PicMenu team plans to carry out optimization and upgrades in multiple aspects, including enhancing the realism of dish images, perfecting the scroll loading function, strengthening multilingual support, and expanding the tag-based filtering system. These improvements will further enhance the practicability and user experience of the tool.
