According to a report from 9to5Mac, Apple has issued a response regarding the use of unauthorized YouTube videos for training AI large models by companies like Apple and NVIDIA.

Apple stated that it used this dataset to train its open-source OpenELM model, which is solely for research purposes. OpenELM does not support any of its artificial intelligence or machine learning functions, including Apple Intelligence. The model is released as open-source and is widely accessible, including on Apple's machine learning research website.

Apple emphasized that the purpose of creating the OpenELM model is to contribute to the research community and promote the development of open-source large language models.
